The original track was recorded by Laura Cantrell with Mark Spencer at Tape Kitchen in Brooklyn, with additional arrangement and orchestration by film score composer Didier Rachou. lyrics
They'll tell you all about the vale of tears
they'll tell you 'bout the bright side too
The rest is something you just gotta hear
before it slips away from you
Last night Van was playing "Domino"
I couldn't force it from my mind
He's on the flip side of the radio
and it was all the work of time
Yeah, Time it will break a promise and
Time it will keep you honest, and Time
it will slip on down the line
Yea, Time it will make you nervous, and
Time, it will serve a purpose and Time
Time Time Time, Time Time Time
Honey, don't go pack up that U-Haul van
the one with Portland on the side
It's got a picture of a mountaintop
that you ain't ever gonna climb
We've got business here to settle yet
I think you know a thing or two
Up in Oregon they're getting wet
we could never follow through
So Time, it's kept us open and
Time, it's getting stolen, and
Time, time out of mind
Hey Time, it will start confessing and
Time, it will leave you guessing and
Time. Time Time Time, Time Time Time
And oh, my only love, my Texas Valentine
how could we think we'd be immune?
Let's run away across the borderline
let's make the daylight catch the moon
But Time, it will keep you honest and
Time, it will break a promise and
Time, time outta mind
Hey Time, it will make you nervous and
Time, let it serve its purpose and Time,
Time Time Time, Time Time Time
